If I’m being completely honest myself, I almost DNF’d this one after the first few chapters. Regardless, Sarah Hogle’s debut knocks it out of the park with a fun twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope and an emphasis on the importance of honesty in a relationship. Well, technically it ended up on my ‘To Be Listened To’ list, as having a closed library means I’m getting pretty comfortable with audiobooks. Whatever it was, I’ve read quite a few of these books since the start of the year.Īlthough my need for more of these books has been tapering off with the coming of springtime weather, You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle had an interesting premise and a super cute cover, so I knew I had to add it to my TBR list. Maybe I was in the doldrums with the gloomy winter weather and was pulled in by the pops of color, maybe I was looking for something light-hearted and funny with the onset of this pandemic. I will freely admit that I do judge books by their covers–I follow up with actual research, don’t worry–and there have been a flood of books in this genre with adorable and brightly-colored covers released over the past several months. I’ve been on a rom-com reading binge the past few months. “Sure, sure.” He smiles, because the idea of successfully pissing me off makes him just as gleeful as I’m going to feel when he realizes I ate all the mozzarella cheese. “Not mad.” Just holding on to it forever. “I see you’re still mad about the spaghetti thing.”
